Julian BrownChairman of the BoardJulian Brown is a senior renewable energy executive and board advisor with more than 25 years of leadership experience in the wind industry.
He currently serves as Chair of the Board at Perceptual Robotics and holds several non-executive roles across the sector, including SENSEWind and BW Ideol.
Previously, he held senior leadership positions with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, AREVA, and Tekmar Group, and served as Chair of RenewableUK.
Julian is widely recognised for his expertise in offshore wind, turbine technology, industrial growth, and strategic business development.
Kostas KarachaliosCEO & Co-FounderKostas Karachalios has led Perceptual Robotics since 2016. A University of Bristol alumnus in Mechanical Engineering, he specializes in engineering, robotics, and the energy sector. Under his leadership, the company developed AI-driven technologies like Dot, the flagship inspection system, and Eve, a compact tool for on-site operations, enhancing wind turbine inspection efficiency.
Kostas has extensive experience in gas turbine operations, grid management, and energy trading.
His expertise includes software engineering, algorithm development, robust control, and sensor integration for robotics. Kostas focuses on AI innovation and sustainability, positioning Perceptual Robotics as a leader in renewable energy operations.
Kevin LindCTO & Co-FounderKevin Lind is an experienced mechanical engineer and technology entrepreneur, who has worked in the renewable energy sector for over 10 years. Kevin has experience working in hardware startups in the Bristol ecosystem, and as the CTO and Co-Founder of Perceptual Robotics, Kevin has been driving innovation in wind energy technology, focusing on developing disruptive solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
His work includes the development of automated blade inspections using drones, machine learning, and AI-powered defect detection, as well as inspection reporting and decision-making tools. He is also actively involved in the project management of funded innovation grants, ensuring successful delivery of complex R&D initiatives. He has led large industrial projects and two Innovate UK initiatives, collaborating with partners such as the University of Bristol, ASV Global, and VulcanUAV.
Kevin and his team are currently leveraging data-driven automation for maintenance planning and wind farm operations, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Dimitris NikolaidisCOO & Co-FounderDimitris Nikolaidis is an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in the energy sector. As COO and Co-Founder of Perceptual Robotics, he is responsible for scaling operations and ensuring the efficient delivery of the company’s AI-driven inspection solutions across global markets.
He has experience supporting large enterprises with software solutions and brings additional expertise in financial modelling, strengthening strategic decision-making and business planning. Dimitris plays a key role in deploying technologies like Dot and Eve, focusing on operational excellence, process optimization, and customer success.
He is passionate about driving efficiency in wind farm operations and advancing data-driven solutions for a more sustainable future.
